The EURL organizes Proficiency Tests (PT) on detection and identification of regulated quarantine plant-parasitic nematodes in order to assess and ensure the reliability and accuracy of the analyses carried out by the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs).
Proficiency tests are performed under accreditation according to the ISO 17043 standard.

The European Union Reference Laboratory for Plant Parasitic Nematodes yearly organizes a workshop, especially intended for the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) in the European Union. The purpose of these workshops is to inform the participants about the activities of the EURL, to present and discuss the results of Proficiency Tests (PT), to present and discuss scientific research projects and to exchange information on the European Union legislation, methods, and other relevant subjects.

2026 EURL Training: Nematode culturing for the production of reference materials

From 15 October 2026 to 15 October 2026

The training will be held online to enable broad participation from EU National Reference Laboratories (NRLs). All registered participants will receive clear instructions in advance on how to join the webinar.

The programme consists of presentations followed by time for questions and discussion. Interactive sessions will provide opportunities for participants to exchange their own experiences, including practical challenges and approaches to problem solving. Technical questions, cases of problems, and examples of solutions will be based on the input of participants. The EURL will ask for input on such cases via email prior to the training (see invitation mail). Please send your questions and case studies by 15 September 2026 to  eurl.nematodes@anses.fr
