The EURL organizes Proficiency Tests (PT) on detection and identification of regulated quarantine plant-parasitic nematodes in order to assess and ensure the reliability and accuracy of the analyses carried out by the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs).
Proficiency tests are performed under accreditation according to the ISO 17043 standard.

The European Union Reference Laboratory for Plant Parasitic Nematodes yearly organizes a workshop, especially intended for the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) in the European Union. The purpose of these workshops is to inform the participants about the activities of the EURL, to present and discuss the results of Proficiency Tests (PT), to present and discuss scientific research projects and to exchange information on the European Union legislation, methods, and other relevant subjects.

EURL Training: Diagnostic methods for detection and identification of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus - On-site
The EURL for Plant Parasitic Nematodes prepared an EURL training workshop on diagnostic methods for detection and identification of
Bursaphelenchus xylophilus.
The Training was restricted to certain NRLs, where the EURL highlighted a need to enhance their performance and reliability in diagnostic analysis.
The sessions took place on-site at the Anses Plant Health Laboraory, in France, from the 29th of November to the 1st of December 2022.
