The seventh EU network meeting between representatives of the Competent Authorities and EURCAW-Poultry-SFA was successfully held online (29-30 September 2026) across two morning sessions. ​

The event brought together 66 participants from 21 EU Member States, including 47 delegates from national Competent Authorities, as well as observers from DG SANTE Unit G5, EFSA, and EFTA, fostering collaboration and the exchange of experiences on animal welfare-related topics.​

During the second morning, as opening session, we had the pleasure to host M. Looije from Eyes on Animals to present: Calming the catch: lessons and experiences from the field.

The meeting also offered the opportunity for four participants to present and discuss their topics of interest during the plenary sessions. Great interest was shown in most of the presentations, generating engaging discussions, promoting the exchange of knowledge and perspectives, and creating valuable networking opportunities among attendees.​
